There’s something magical about Will’s music. He routinely conjures the most elemental, uplifting melodies from his 0s and 1s, cradled amongst skittering percussion, meandering arps and heart-warming synth blankets. Drawing as much from the hardcore continuum’s low end theory as the British folk songbook, Gang Colours – the latest addition to Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings family – is set to make his mark in 2011 as UK bass culture continues to seep out of sweaty basements into the broader mainstream consciousness.
