JACQUES GREEN - THE LOOK EP

Shrouded in mystery, 21 year old Montreal native Jacques Greene represents a new breed of House producer whose influences range from slick 90s UK Garage, classic Chicago House and glossy RnB. With a single release forthcoming on London tastemaker imprint Night Slugs, LuckyMe are very pleased to be able to present this new EP; the biggest collection of work to date from this much hyped producer.

Made entirely on a wide range of analogue synths and original drum machines in a loft studio in Mile End, Jacquesʼ sound is both forward thinking yet steeped in the traditions of good House music. Our opener ʻThe Lookʼ is a slick, anthemic take on classic UK garage / US house , while the jackinʼ shuffle of tracks like ʻHoldin Onʼ & ʻGood Morninʼ keep it moving with a natural, rolling bump so often lacking with todays dance music. It gets deeper too, with the reverb drenched vocal melancholy of ʻTell Meʼ wrapping up the record in the after-hours club with your ex girlfriend. This is the track which was so greatly regarded by Mary Anne Hobbs that it earned a place on her final BBC Radio One show – standing as one of the select few examples of ʻones to watchʼ in her absence from radio. We consequently have moved this release forward to meet the demands of folks mailing the label about him.

With upfront DJ support from the young leaders of house at Rinse FM: Bok Bok, L-Vis 1990, Ben UFO,Oneman & Braiden, as well as Hudson Mohawke, Floating Points, The Blessings and Mark Flash - Jacques Greene is announcing his arrival in fine style.

Another tastemaking 12” EP debut on the LuckyMe label sealing a good 2010 for our team.
